We are just hours away from the kick off of Disrupt!/Media!/ and all our judges, mentors, and participants are ready to go.
After a highly competitive selection process, the Disrupt team has chosen 14 ideas to take part this weekend. These finalists have been chosen for the strength of their idea, their eagerness to learn and their potential to become leaders in Tunisia’s creative entrepreneurial scene.
Some of the great ideas include a publishing house for a new generation of children’s books and media in Tunisia, a transmedia storytelling project on traditions and innovations in Tunisian street food and an online platform for Arab artists around the region.
A Weekend of Disruptive Ideas
Over the course of one fast-paced weekend, these individuals and teams will work with our trainer and mentors to mature their ideas, develop a full business model canvas, and craft a perfect pitch to impress our panel of judges.
The winners will be selected based on three main criteria: the strength of their idea, the feasibility of their business plan, and the quality of their presentation skills. With just 3 minutes to present their idea, each pitch will need to be clear, concise and above all: creative! In addition, each presenter will face an additional 3 minutes of questioning from the Disrupt judging panel to see how well they can think on their feet and perform under pressure.
After the pitching, the judges will make their final deliberations, while the team, participants and mentors head to the famous Latina Café. There, we will have a live musical performance, before the judges join us for dinner. Just before dessert, the judges will take to the dance floor to announce the third, second, and first place winners of Disrupt!/Media!/.
The Prizes, and a Surprise!
For the third prize, we have a €1,000 prize and a one month membership at Cogite. The second place idea will receive €1,500 and a two-month membership at Cogite. And for the winning idea of Disrupt!/Media!/ we have a grand prize of €2,500 and a 3 month membership at Cogite.
